Commons Practices, explores the garden and the forest as places of passage, rest, and encounter. Drawing on the history of the Boisés Miner, in Granby, QC, we aim to activate gardens and forests as shared spaces, fostering an inclusive coexistence between humans and the natural world.
This project is taking place during a multi-stay residency at the 3e impérial from December 2025 to March 2027.
In a first in-situ intervention we are installing 12 birdhouses in community and individual gardens across Granby.
The main symbol for the project is a weathered hydrangia flower, discovered in a birds nest on our first walk in the Boisés Miner. For us the flower shows how the garden and the forest are in constant contact.
This project is realised in collaboration with the artist Kaiatanoron Dumoulin Bush.
